In a Flash
Site-specific installation, Old Police Station, Deptford, London, 2016
High-visibility reflective fabric tape, reusable adhesive, 300x208x338cm

'In A Flash' was a site-specific intervention for the Old Police Station in Deptford inspired by the history of the site, the theme of surveillance and the relationship of space and photography. The cell was kept dark and seemingly empty. Only when lit by flash photography did the work  - made of reflective material similar to that of police uniforms - become visible, redefining the geometry of the tight cell and breaking its rigid grid structure. Taking a picture of the space inevitably transformed it, and the work existed only in its documentation.
